This series of paintings has developed from my love of planting, tending and enjoying plants in our  environment. My father, Martin, owned Tivoli gardens a small suffolk nursery, and I learnt how to plant seedlings and grow plants from an early age. On trend with the rise in interest in succulents, cacti and houseplants in general I like to compose imagery with a sense of wistful nostalgia and mindfulness.  Indoor gardening and pottering with plants can be a relaxing and satisfying experience.  For those of us whom struggle with keeping out plants alive (!) a painting can be a wonderful alternative to bring the natural world into our home
